'The Walking Dead': Family friendly version coming up

It may not be good news to a lot of avid Walking Dead watchers, but a watchdog group recently came out against the program for its excessively violent content, saying that the show is inappropriately rated TV-14.

AMC’s massive hit series, Walking Dead, which is very popular mainly among teenagers, is now all set to get a family –friendly tag for its upcoming season. Starting this fall, it will run two episodes a week, edited for family standards, from seasons of the show that have previously aired on AMC.

Since 1995, the conservative advocacy group, Parents Television Council, has been monitoring TV programs, looking out for families’ best interests, by submitting complaints and grievances to the FCC when they deem programs to be harmful to children.

The watchdog group are constantly pressurizing advertisers, cable operators and networks against a multitude of programs each year and continually pressures to remove what it considers to be inappropriate content.

Walking Dead has now been added to their list, as the PTC recently came out against the program for its excessively violent content, saying that the show is inappropriately rated TV-14.

Though for staunch fans of Walking Dead, this watchdog group may seem like nothing more than an annoying nag, this time they may really have a point. A good dose of gory violence is unavoidable and even necessary for a show dealing with the zombie apocalypse, but this show's explicit nature may be too much for young viewers to handle.

Surprisingly, most of the show’s millions of loyal followers love it more for its dramatic survival story and interesting characters than for the gore, and most of those viewers are mature adults, so bumping up the rating to TV-MA probably wouldn’t affect the show’s success. Season 4 of The Walking Dead continues to dominate its time slot and smash cable records and we know that the show is at least coming back for Season 5.

Oprah Winfrey gets real with Lindsay this time

March 25, 2014

Oprah Winfrey had a lot of TRPs riding on this show. Hence, when Lindsay Lohan continually failed to show up for filming sessions for the docuseries on LiLo’s journey to sobriety, Miss Winfrey decided to personally get LiLo’s act together.

The drama occurred after the 27-year-old actress decided she no longer wanted cameras around to document her daily life story. When the talk-show queen caught wind of Lohan's desire to shirk her commitment, she made a trip to Lohan's mom's house in Long Island to tell LiLo what it's like. Only she didn’t mince her words this time.

Taking off with motherly warmth and compassion, Oprah confronted Lohan by saying. "If you're not ready to keep the commitment that you made with me and the rest of the crew, I really am. Because, when I said that in the interview, I know it was on television, I know we're on television now, but my truth is that I really do want you to win. I really do."

Lohan told Winfrey that she simply wasn't comfortable being filmed all the time, but Oprah just wasn't buying it, telling Lohan to "cut the bullsh*t”. The OWN queen asked her if she has been sober and LiLo answered ‘Yes’ to that. “Hello! Look at that! Let’s celebrate that!” said Oprah and hi-fi-ed her. It was then Lohan broke down on camera.

The rest of the story is a must watch on the video along with.
