Dear Readers,

 

With the spate of magazines mushrooming everyday online, we wondered where we could stand, if at all.

The fact is that, we are a bunch of professionals who, possessing monumental experience in the print newspaper and writing field, doing everything the hard way, have been feeling lost since the internet arrived.

With mammoth designing and writing knowledge and experience, we felt left out that no one's looking for knowledge, no one’s looking for experience, no one wants you to do it the hard way. They just want people who can do a 9-to-5 copy-pasting job! In this age of copy-pasters, we had original writings in hand, with no takers.

 

CITRUS is a platform for such veterans.

 

CITRUS wants to bring true journalism into focus, with original writings, from renowned/talented writers... albeit with a tang.

Maybe, it can't happen every time, but that is our goal and motto.

 

Does that indicate CITRUS has old, wrinkled writers?

You’d be surprised! You have no clue as to how many young writers are writing with expertise and knowledge of an 80-year-old. CITRUS is for them also. To bring authentic, original writers back into journalism.

 

I personally used to hang in public buses in India, walk unarmed into goon-occupied factories. We, journalists, walked with our cameras with the suicide bombers, just to take a shot. Such was journalism.

 

It's impossible to bring that all back, knowing that the world had undergone a massive makeover with the advent of the internet, and has easy access to almost everything online. And with Photoshop, you can cook every photograph on your kitchen cutting board.

Yet, we are determined to bring out a magazine that’ll carry the best, the original, and the products of personal experience.

 

I hope the world will give us a lending hand.
