Take a walk on 'Mars' this Spring

The Cheltenham Badlands are a bizarre geographical spectacle that lies hidden in the Caledon Hills, 50 kms off Mississauga, Ontario. This area consists of bare, windswept red hills and gullies.

The reddish hue of the Queenston Shale is caused by iron oxide, making it "Mars" like landscape. The cause of this phenomenon was poor farming practices in the 1930’s which caused overgrazing and the resultant exposure of the Queenston shale that supports little or no vegetation.

Flying free @Fifty

In 2013 I was taking a look back on all that has happened in my life till now (possibly the little profound and spiritual attitude brought on by the “Spiced Jamaican Spirit”) and realized that over the years I had actually stopped pushing myself, both mentally and physically  —I was falling into the trap of being content in the comfort zone, and that had to change. Moreover, with my son needling me that I am getting old (so what if the joints creak a little nowadays and recovery from physical exertions have tripled in duration), I simply had to show him (and his generation) that the Bengal Tiger still roars!...
